Each year 65,000 undocumented students graduate from American high schools with limited options for their future. Brought to the United States when they were minors, many of these students are just realizing that they are not legally recognized as citizens. Without citizenship, these hard-working students are currently ineligible for most college financial aid and in-state tuition, are unable to enlist in the armed forces, or legally work in the United States. Without options for their future, these youth are at risk for anxiety and depression, low-wage exploitative jobs, and high-risk behaviors.
