Earlier this week, the Pennsylvania Senate passed a budget that takes one small step forward by restoring $500 million in cuts the Governor proposed to next year’s budget. The Senate budget would provide $50 million more to school districts to improve student achievement. Funding for Pre-K Counts and Head Start would be restored to current levels and support for higher education would be preserved.
