Ask your Member of the House of Representatives to cosponsor HR1351If passed into law, H.R. 1351 would provide much-needed financial relief for the USPS. It would effectively free up a portion of the postal service’s vastly over-funded pension plans, and would apply those monies to a Congressionally-mandated annual payment toward the USPS Retiree Health Benefit Fund, and to retiring a portion of the agency’s accumulated debt. This legislation also would require the Office of Personnel Management to adjust its formula for calculating USPS contributions to its pension plans, to a more modern, and realistic formula – which would help remedy the massive over overfunding of those plans. ...
