Delaware: Favorable Bill Moved to 2017

Update: June 15, 2016

Dear Delaware Wine Lovers,

Thanks to all of you who wrote your state legislators in support of winery direct shipping this year.

We received word today that the chair of the House Economic Development, Insurance and Banking Committee cancelled today’s hearing on House Bill 134. Apparently there will be a better chance for bi-partisan support in 2017; additionally, the recent legislation passed in Pennsylvania bodes well for Delaware. (PA Governor Wolf signed “modernization” bill this week that, among other provisions, will allow for winery direct shipping this fall.)

For the eighth consecutive year, we want to thank Representative Deborah Hudson for her leadership in bringing legislation forward. Yes, we are disappointed to have to wait yet another year but are optimistic that, with your support, Delaware will be the 45th state to pass winery direct shipping legislation.

Of course, we will keep you informed as we learn more.

Thanks again for your continued support. We’re not giving up!
