    President Obama recently announced a proposal to channel $30 billion of TARP funds to community banks to support small business lending.  The President's initiative is entirely focused on small and community banks and includes nothing aimed at credit unions.  Credit unions are ready and willing to lend to small businesses if only Congress would lift the member business lending cap.  Lifting the cap on credit union lending would not cost taxpayers a dime!
