Take Action PhotoTake Action for Health

Crozer-Keystone Health System is dedicated to your good health and wellness. As part of our campaign to keep Pennsylvania's families healthy, we welcome you to our Health Advocacy Center and invite you to Take Action for Health.

Thank you for helping ensure that Pennsylvania hospitals are able to fulfill their duty to be the safety net for many of our sickest and most vulnerable citizens, including the elderly and those with chronic health conditions as well as children and families. The Governor and Senate are currently proposing their own budgets that would slash hospital Medicaid payments, leaving our hospitals and our most vulnerable patients at an even greater risk. We need your help to explain the dangers facing hospitals and patients if these budgets are approved. Take action today!

The Pennsylvania legislature is developing the 2009-2010 budget, and has acknowledged it is facing a monumental $3 billion shortfall. Proposed budget cuts to hospital Medicaid payments would be significant in order to fill the gap. These cuts will trickle down and impact the quality of care all of us receive, causing tremendous impact to patients and communities. Trauma care, burn care, obstetrics and neonatal care, rural health care, health and medical education, and care for low-income patients are services people cannot go without. Pennsylvania hospitals have already endured the brunt of our current economic crisis, and further Medicaid payment cuts will be devastating to hospitals and patients. The state's fiscal situation is serious, but restoration of these hospital cuts is essential to preserve the hospital safety net for Pennsylvanians.
