As a member of the Center for Moral Clarity, a Christian grassroots organization, I am intensely interested in how Congress will fund the Second Chance Act, a bill President Bush signed earlier this year to authorize prison re-entry programs.
While you are back in session this month, I would encourage you to enable the language of a continuing resolution so that the Department of Justice can launch programs you already authorized as part of the Second Chance Act.
Prison re-entry funding is an important step our nation can take in the interest of justice and in keeping our communities safer. Please use your influence to permit continuing resolution funds to be used for these vital initiatives.
Thank you for considering my opinion.
