Action Alert
Take Action Now! Protect Funding for OSHA, MSHA, NIOSH, and CSB

Congress and the President are proposing funding cuts to four Federal entities specifically charged with protecting worker health and safety: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the Chemical Safety Board (CSB). We need your help to tell your Members of Congress to reject any and all proposed cuts for these entities – because the health and safety of America’s workforce are nonnegotiable.

If these cuts are enacted, the results are unpredictable, but we can be sure of this: Americans will be less healthy and safe at work because these Federal entities will be able to perform less of the key research, guidance, standards, investigations, and related in-demand services that professionals, employers, and workers have come to rely upon to help reduce workplace injuries, illnesses, and deaths.

Your voice is the only one that matters.

This is the time to act. Congress is beginning serious work on the bills that provide funding for OSHA, MSHA, NIOSH, and the CSB, making now the perfect opportunity to ensure your voice heard. AIHA asks you to please send a letter to your US Representative and two US Senators urging them to reject any and all funding cuts for these Federal entities. A model letter is provided below; to increase the effectiveness of your messages, we ask that you personalize your letters.
