Members of Congress look to PAs to provide them with perspective and information on health care decisions affecting their communities.  It is critical that PAs make their voices heard on Capitol Hill  -  and together we can achieve the profession's legislative priorities.
 
 
Ready to be an advocate for the profession? Here's where to start:

1.
Send an email to your elected officials urging them to support PA priority legislation.
2.  Join the AAPA's Grassroots Advocacy and Information Network (GAIN) to get the tools you need to be a successful advocate for patients and the profession.
3.  Make your vote and voice count: register to vote.

  • Allow PAs to Provide Hospice Care

    Support HR 1202

    Your help is needed to move legislation in the House to authorize PAs to provide hospice services to Medicare beneficiaries.   Reps. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) and Mike Thompson (D-CA) introduced HR 1202, the Medicare Patient Access to Hospice Act, on March 2, 2015.   With Congress seeking to improve efficiency and cost in Medicare, NOW is the time to act.   Please contact your Representative TODAY and ask him/her to cosponsor and pass this important legislation this year.    ...

    On Thursday, November 5, 2015, Reps. Ann Kuster (D-NH) and Joe Heck (R-NV) introduced HR 3974, the "Grow Our Own Directive (GOOD): Physician Assistant Employment and Education Act of 2015". The GOOD Pilot Program, designed to create a pathway for veterans to become educated as PAs, is a creative, two-pronged investment for our nation’s veterans.
