Urge your Senators to Co-Sponsor the Early Treatment for HIV Act
The Early Treatment for HIV Act (ETHA) will amend Medicaid to give states the option to provide low-income individuals with HIV healthcare and treatment services. Senators Charles Schumer and Olympia Snowe introduced ETHA on Monday, April 20th.
Currently, individuals with HIV cannot qualify for Medicaid unless they are certified disabled or have received an AIDS diagnosis. Unfortunately, this means that many people are too sick to benefit from therapy, and their care is more costly and complicated. This live saving and cost-effective bill has already received bipartisan support in both the House and Senate, but needs more co-sponsors.
With early treatment people with HIV can live longer, healthier, and more productive lives.
Help pass this critical legislation. Urge your Senators to Co-sponsor ETHA today.
